We are Instil Software, and we design and develop OSGi systems.

OSGi, Spring DM and Eclipse have underpinned almost every aspect of our work for well over 2+ years. We know OSGi because we work with it every day. We know OSGi because we have spent many long hours working with the technology in intimate detail.

OSGi and Spring DM have enabled us to create simple, robust, and maintainable solutions in complex domains: everything from an OSGi-based runtime environment for a major Telco to a rich client optometry workbench.

The largest and most significant OSGi project during the past 2 years has been the design and implementation of a distributed OSGi-based application container and runtime environment for a major Telco provider. We are proud to have been at the heart of the success of this work, having been responsible for much of its technical direction and core code base.

With over 6000+ unit tests, the system can be considered large by any comparison. Too large to capture in a few short paragraphs, but needless to say that it's heart is a runtime environment that lives and breaths OSGi services - services that are retrieved through service trackers and Spring DM.
